Part of the collection of images from the 1936 Exhibition of Minoan Civilization and the first 50 years work of the BSA at Burlington House, London. The object is from the 1906-1910 British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Statue of Spartan warrior, so-called 'Leonidas'". |

Date is based on the fact that the negative was created for the 1936 Exhibition of Minoan Civilization and the first 50 years work of the BSA at Burlington House in London. Printed on the negative: "Statue of a Spartan warrior, so-called Leonidas". It is shown in the gallery space in C 6840 (see related record). |
