Notes Latest date is based on the inclusion of this image in the SPHS slide catalogue. The image appears in the SPHS Slide Set by A.J. Toynbee (ca. 1924) Greek Life and the Greek Environment [later changed to The Geography of Greece]. Slide number 37. The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XB114 as "Euripos, fortifications" [Referring to the old name for Khalkis on Euboea].
