Scope and Content Part of a group of images from the British School at Athens excavations at Palaikastro, Crete in the 1902-1905. The original description in the SPHS negative register reads: "Palaikastro: pottery fillers".
Notes Date is based on the second season of excavation at Palaikastro and the publication of the image. Filler is an old term applied to the pottery shape of the rhyton. The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XJ171 as "L.M.II rhyton shell-design, Palaikastro". A photograph of the actual rhyton on the left appears in related record BSA SPHS 01/4236.8783.
