Scope and Content Part of a group of images from the British School at Athens excavations at Palaikastro, Crete in the 1902-1905. The original description in the SPHS negative register reads: "Palaikastro: gourd vase".
Notes Described on p. 287 of BSA IX as a flask decorated with a 'polyp' [i.e. octopus] motif. The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XJ174 as "L.M.II flask, octopus, shells".
