Scope and Content Ground plan. This is a preliminary drawing.. It is entitled (in pencil): 'Agia Zoni and Agios Spyridon'. A ground plan and sketches of other churches have been imprinted on it. Furher annotation in pencil survives.
Further information The church of Hagia Zoni and Hagios Spyridon is located in the densely populated area around Lysiou Str. This three-aisled basilica was rebuilt in the 16th and 17th c. after the opening up of Lysiou Str. and the northern aisle of the building was demolished. An altar of Bachhus stood on the same site in ancient times. Parts of the wall-paintings of the church survive in a severely fragmentary form.
