Scope and Content Distant view. This is a commercial photo. The photograph was found along with 7 more by the same creator/artist inside a copy of 'A Letter to the Right Honourable Lord Aldenham upon the subject of a Byzantine Evangelion' by Edwin Freshfield.
Further information The column lies at the entrance of the Topkapi palace gardens and has remained unchanged since the Roman period. It consists of a 15m marble monolith on a high platform and owes its name to an inscription referring to the victory against the Goths. It is the oldest monument in the city.
