Scope and Content Consists of a typed copy of a letter from Frankfort (Research Professor of Oriental Archaeology and Field-Director in Iraq of the Oriental Institute, University of Chicago; Extraordinary Professor for the History and Archaeology of the Ancient Near East in the University of Amsterdam; Correspondent of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences). The letter mentions that Pendlebury had been Frankfort’s assistant at Armant and Tell-el-Amarna [Amarna] in Egypt in 1928-29, Pendlebury’s personal attributes, his work at Amarna and publications.
