| Scope and Content | Part of a series of images taken by F.W. Hasluck during the course of his visit to Mount Athos in 1911. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Athos: Kelli, near Karyes". |
| Notes | Date based on Hasluck's visit to Mount Athos to research his book, Mount Athos and its Monasteries (1924). Kelli of St. Nicholas Burazeri is a dependant of the Hilandar Monastery, but is very close to Karyes. |
| Further information | Kellia or "cells" are unattached to sketae, but are completely dependent on monasteries who, in turn, are responsible for the upkeep of the kelli's buildings. A typical building of a kelli consists of a corridor with cells ending in a chapel. The inhabitants of a kelli are generally engaged in agricultural work or fishing.
