Part of a collection of images from the village of Sille in Konya [Konia] in 1909 when Dawkins was investigating Greek dialects. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Silleh: near Konia". |

Dawkins mentions p. 109 of 'Modern Greek in Asia Minor' Journal of Hellenic Studies 30 (1910) that, in addition to his Cappadocian travels (for research on Greek dialects published in Modern Greek in Asia Minor, 1916), he spent time in 1909 at the village of Silli in Konia investigating dialects in this area. Written on the border is "No. 10". |
