Description Glass negative, quarter plate size, presumably a copy negative. The image on the negative is smaller and in the shape of a circle, 7cm diam. Possibly for the production of a lantern slide.

Scope and Content The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Mycenae: lion gate, inside view".
Notes Latest date is based on its inclusion in the 1897 JHS slide catalogue. It also appears in the J.L. Myres negative register held by the archives at the Institute of Archaeology, Oxford University, as a Hellenic Association(the Teachers' Guild) slide, xxi.16 listed in the 1897 Journal of Hellenic Studies. It may have been photographed by Myres. Other Collections: The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XK26 as "Mycenae: Lion Gate, from within".
