Notes Latest date based on the image's inclusion in the 1904 slide catalogue. According to E.A. Gardner in his volume on Ancient Sculpture (1897), these drawings were done by the French artist, Jacques Carrey, who visited Athens in 1674, shortly before the explosion which destroyed the middle part of the Parthenon. Gardner references an article in vol. 1 of Antike Denkmäler, Tafel 6a.1. Both the image in Gardner and the Antike Denkmäler are not exact matches since this images adds some additional architectural features. Nevertheless, the image here bears stamp of the British Museum.
