Notes | Date attributed to the year in which Hogarth and Munro explored parts of Anatolia - see A Wandering Scholar in the Levant (1896) and 'Modern and Ancient Roads in Eastern Asia Minor'. Supplementary Papers of the Royal Geographical Society 3(5), 1893.. The image was used for the 1936 Exhibition of Minoan Civilization and the first 50 years work of the BSA at Burlington House in London. Attribution to the Çifte Minareli Medrese (Double Minaret College) based on the text in the 1936 Exhibition catalogue which lists the Blue College (SPHS 5794) and another college. Architectural details in the photograph match the Double Minaret College, thought to be the model for the Blue College. |
