Description | Film negative, approximately quarter plate size, an original negative, but taken from a publication. |
Dimensions | 10.5 x 8 cm |
Place |
Rhodiapolis |
Donor/Creator |
Unknown Burger, Wilhelm J. |
Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Rhodiapolis". |
Notes | Unknown date, but is probably taken from a publication since the caption "Rhodiapolis" is just visible below the photograph and given the similarity with the SPHS 2314 image of Sidyma, it may be from the same photographer, but not included in the first volume of Reisen im südwestlichen Kleinasien. The entry in the negative register is pencilled and is listed with the donation of over 1,000 images by S.C. Atchley's in 1921, but it is probably not associated with him. This is one of three images in Turkey that are listed on the same page - Sidyma (C 2314), Alifaradin (C 2317) and Rhodiapolis (C 2318). Also see SPHS C 2328, listed on the following page of the negative register. |
