| Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Thebes". |
| Notes | A commercial image from the English Photographic Company. Unknown date, but based on related record related record SPHS 1117, a description of which matches one in the inventory of the image collection printed in the 1902 Journal of Hellenic Society (p.. lxviii). The inventory, without catalogue numbers, was most likely created when the collection was reorganised, switching from alphanumeric catalogue numbers to sequential numbers. Numerous images from the English Photographic Company donated via Shirley Atchley catalogued from SPHS 8943 to 9256 appearing in the 1913 slide catalogue in the Journal of Hellenic Studies, it probably dates no later than 1913, but is likely to be much earlier. SPHS 1117 is horizontally flipped with the "cave" in the lower centre left. |
