Scope and Content Part of the collection of images taken around the time of the compilation of the 1906 catalogue of the Sparta Museum conducted by M.N. Tod and A.J.B. Wace as members of the 1905-1910 the British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Sparta Mus. 520, 553.10, 594. Pithos fragment. TC figurines from Menalaeon, nude female, Bronze statuette".
Notes Date is based on Wace and Tod catalogue project in the Sparta Museum prior to BSA excavation of the ancient city. According to the entry in the Sparta Museum Catalogue (Tod and Wace 1906), No. 533.10 (terracotta figurines) was part of a group of objects entitled "Figurines and small vases from the Menelaeum. Found in Kastriotes' excavations, 1889 and 1900."
