| Scope and Content | BRF 01/01/07/258. Watercolour illustration of a mosaic of a head in a circle. "No 8 ref. to No 4" written at top in blue pencil. "Full size" is written and scribbled out in pencil to the lower left of the painting, to the lower right is a Byzantine Research Fund copyright stamp with the original archive number written in. There is evidence in the corner of the paper that there was previously a frame attached. The original description in the catalogue reads: "The Church of St. Demetrios. - 541-45. Mosaics: 542, head of Demetrios from 544." |
