Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Cnossos: Miscellaneous pottery and lamps". |
Notes | Date based on the first year of excavation at Knossos when Myres was present. The initials JLM is written on the negative indicating that the photograph may have been taken by Myres. Numbers 99 and 78 are written above the prints, but are crossed out and may relate to numbers in the Evans archive in the Ashmolean, Oxford. It also appears as negative number 3835 in the J.L. Myres negative register held by the archives at the Institute of Archaeology, Oxford University. Register reads: "Alabaster & Gypsum vases". Other Collections: The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XJ47 and XJ48 (duplicate slides) as "Knossos, stone vases". |
