| Scope and Content | BRF 01/01/14/070. Ink illustration showing the ground plan of a church, including some of the floor decoration, titled in the lower left corner "A Plan of the church." Written in pencil in the upper left corner is "Mistra Church of St Demetrius." At the bottom are two scale bars, one in feet and one in metres. To the lower right is a Byzantine Research Fund copyright stamp with the original archive number written in. There are some further annotations in pencil. The original description in the catalogue reads: "The Church of St. Demetrios (The Metropolis). - This church was built in 1310 as a basilica, but in deference to local fashion Pantanassa). The basilica is clearly based on earlier models. 488. Ground plan." |
