Notes | Date based on the earliest excavations at Artemis Orthia in 1907 which Baker Penoyre visited. Numerous images of Baker-Penoyre's of Sparta or the Mistra region appear grouped with these and are listed in the 1908 JHS slide accession list. Magoula is located west of Sparta close to ancient Pitani and Mesoa. The nearby bridge is named after the river. The modern road now covers the arch and lower piers of the bridge. |
