| Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Olympia: museum, metopes". |
| Notes | The date is based on R. Elsey Smith's residence in the BSA 1887-1888 (BSA Annual Report 1889-90, p. 25). Although the negative shows five metopes of Heracles, only one is left without tape through it: C, Heracles and Augean Stable; this was the one metope highlighted for reproduction in slide format for the 1897 and 1904 slide catalogues. The 1913 slide catalogue, however, lists all five, plus a general slide of all five. |
