Scope and Content The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Terra-cotta fragment: elaborate meander".
Notes Date based on Gardner's exploration in Arcadia during one of the spring seasons of the Megalopolis excavation (see BSA Director's report for 1892-93). Two students who accompanied Gardner (A.G. Bather and V.W. Yorke) conducted test excavations near the town of Kyparissa (Arcadia) which revealed this elaborate meander fragment, drawn for the publication of the excavation (JHS 13: fig. on p. 230), matching this image. It is reported to be stone, not terracotta. There are remains of a paper label attached to the corner with either 30 or 33 written on it.
