Scope and Content Part of the collection of images, 1906-1910, of the British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Sparta: the Menelaeum distant view".
Notes Date is based on the publication of the image in BSA for 1909. The image appears in SPHS Slide Sets no author, ca. 1932. Greek Scenery. Slide number 6 and A.J. Toynbee, ca. 1924. Greek Life and the Greek Environment [later changed to The Geography of Greece]. Slide number 14. The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XB342 as "Eurotas: plain, the Menelaum".
