Scope and Content | Part of a series of images from the survey 1902-1906 carried out by F.W. Hasluck at Cyzicus and surrounding territory in Anatolia, under the auspices of the British School at Athens. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Aesepus valley: Roman bridge (Guventchin Küprü), down side BSA xiii 186" |
Notes | Date based on Hasluck's trip to investigate the bridge with R.M. Dawkins: Hasluck, F.W. 'A Roman Bridge on the Aeseups' 1905/1906 BSA 12: 184-189. This was part of the Cyzicus survey conducted by Hasluck in the area surrounding the ancient city. The image was used for the 1936 Exhibition in Burlington house celebrating the first 50 years of the BSA. |
