| Scope and Content | Part of a group of images from explorations and excavations on the island of Melos conducted by the British School at Athens from 1896 to 1899. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Phylakopi:a) Flying fish fresco Phyl. III b) arms holding Phylakopi p.273". |
| Notes | The dates are based on the excavation seasons at Phylakopi, although it must date prior to 1904 when it appears in the site publication and the 1904 slide catalogue. Other Collections: The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XJ30 as "Melos: flying-fish (fresco)". |
