Notes | This rhyton decorated with triton shells is described on p. 312 of BSA IX and dates to the second season of excavation at Palaikastro. Filler is an old term applied to the pottery shape of the rhyton. A photograph of the actual rhyton on the left appears in related record BSA SPHS 01/4236.8783. The image is duplicated in slide format in the Ashmolean Lantern Slide Teaching Collection, Oxford University, catalogue number XJ173 as "L.M.II rhyton, marine: Palaikastro". |
