Scope and Content | Part of a group of images from the British School at Athens excavations at Rhitsona in Boeotia in 1907 and 1908. The original description in the SPHS negative register reads: "Terra cotta female idol from Mycalessus". Rhisona was identified by the excavator, R. Burrows, as the ancient site of Mycalessus. |
Notes | Dates based on the excavation of Rhitsona (ancient Mycalessus). This is a drawing, but R. M. Burrows and P. N. Ure 1907/1908. 'Excavations at Rhitsóna in Boeotia' BSA 14: 226-318, plate 12a (not 7a as listed in the 1913 slide catalogue) shows the actual object. |
