Scope and Content Part of the collection of images from the 1936 Exhibition of Minoan Civilization and the first 50 years work of the BSA at Burlington House, London. The object is from the 1906-1910 British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Bronze figurine of trumpeter from Chalkioikos site, Sparta".
Notes Date is the year listed in the description of the image in the SPHS register. The image was created from an earlier image (BSA SPHS 01/2700.6983 or BSA SPHS 01/4459.9144 - see related records), specifically for the 1936 Exhibition. Written on it is the text: "164. Bronze figure of a trumpeter, found in the temple of Athena of the Brazen House (Chalkioikos) on the Acropolis of Sparta: height about five inches: ca. 450 bc".
