Scope and Content | Part of the collection of images taken around the time of the compilation of the 1906 catalogue of the Sparta Museum conducted by M.N. Tod and A.J.B. Wace as members of the 1905-1910 the British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Sparta Mus. No. 3, 27, 505. Archaic hero reliefs". |
Notes | Date is based on Wace and Tod catalogue project in the Sparta Museum prior to BSA excavation of the ancient city. The original caption was probably intended for the complete photograph prior to masking. The masking seems to highlight No. 505 on the right, an Archaic hero relief. |
