Scope and Content | Part of the collection of images taken around the time of the compilation of the 1906 catalogue of the Sparta Museum conducted by M.N. Tod and A.J.B. Wace as members of the 1905-1910 the British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Sparta Mus. No. 201, 202, 203. dioscuri reliefs". |
Notes | Date is based on Wace and Tod catalogue project in the Sparta Museum prior to BSA excavation of the ancient city. The Catalogue for the Sparta Museum indicates that a plaster cast had been made of No. 201 by Martinelli (who operated in Athens) and said to be extant in the Berlin Museum (as well as other Museums). |
