Wace as members of the 1905-1910 the British School at Athens excavations at Sparta, Laconia. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Sparta Mus. 683 Hero relief. Asclepius (?) God. 4th cent. work". |
Notes | Date is based on Wace and Tod catalogue project in the Sparta Museum prior to BSA excavation of the ancient city. The entries for 7529 in the 1905 JHS accession list of slides and the 1913 slide catalogue are incorrect in attributing this to the museum catalogue number 29 (a defaced relief in blue marble). |
