Notes | A commercial image from the English Photographic Company. The entry has been struck out in the SPHS register, presumably deaccessioned. It is the same photograph as BSA SPHS 01/1339.3411.1 and BSA SPHS 01/3619.3411.2 and included in the 1897 SPHS slide catalogue and, therefore, must date before 1897. This photograph contains the same scratched out number in the left foreground as the other two images. Note numerous images from the English Photographic Company donated via Shirley Atchley catalogued from SPHS 8943 to 9256 appearing in the 1913 slide catalogue in the Journal of Hellenic Studies, Printed on the bottom of the negative: "Athens No. 41. Bema of the Pynx. English Photo Co." This image (SPHS 3411) appears in SPHS Slide Set by J. Penoyre (ca. 1926) Ancient Greek Life, slide number 12. |
