Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Cnossos: view past throne room into E. courtyard". |
Notes | Date based on the first year of excavation at Knossos when Myres was present and also date prior to Fyfe's first reconstruction in 1901. The initials JLM is written on the negative indicating that the photograph may have been taken by Myres although Evans is listed as the donor to the SPHS collection. Number 174, crossed out, is written above the print may relate to numbers in the Evans archive in the Ashmolean, Oxford. It also appears as negative number 3849 in the J.L. Myres negative register held by the archives at the Institute of Archaeology, Oxford University. Register reads: "View past Throne Room into E. Courtyard". |
