Notes | Latest date based on its inclusion in the 1925 slide catalogue. Note this is likely to be the Paleocastro of Aetos. In early reports of excavations by the BSA on the site of Aetos, it describes its location near the terraces that surround the chapel of St. George (W. A. Heurtley and H. L. Lorimer, 'Excavations in Ithaca, I. LH III: Protogeometric Cairns at Aetós' The Annual of the British School at Athens Vol. 33 (1932/1933), pp. 22-65). |
