Scope and Content | Part of a collection of images from Wace and Dawkins' travels to the Dodecanese and the Cyclades between 1906 and 1907, primarily to collect textiles. The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Nisyros: Greek gate in town walls". |
Notes | Date based on Wace and Dawkins visit to the Cyclades and Dodecanese in 1906 (Dawkins, R.M. and A.J.B. Wace 1905/1906. 'Notes from the Sporades, Astypalaea, Telos, Nisyros, Leros' Annual of the British School at Athens 12: 151-174). The image was used for the 1936 Exhibition of Minoan Civilization and the first 50 years work of the BSA at Burlington House in London. |
