Notes | Latest date is based on inclusion in the 1913 SPHS slide catalogue.. This was the area of the old Monastiraki marketplace (agora). Caption written below the photograph has been cropped right and left, but reads: "...facade of the Stoa of Hadrian [...] A.D. [...] munificent though rather tasteless patron of Athens. A stoa was a [...] businesses attached. This is the exterior; business was [...]. The columns are Corinthian style". |
