| Scope and Content | Part of a group of images from the British School at Athens excavations at Palaikastro, Crete in the 1902-1905. The original description in the SPHS negative register reads: "Palaikastro: larnax, griffin". |
| Notes | The painted larnax was discovered in 1901 by Mr. J. H. Marshall who had come over from the excavations at Praisos on an exploratory mission (BSA 8: 297). Written on the negative is the number 70. |
