Scope and Content | The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Salonika district: A. Marble head of Trajan found with milestone 8509. B. Marble torso from Zangliveri". |
Notes | Earliest date based on the discovery of the draped figure in 1918; latest date based on the donation of images by Capt. S. Casson to the SPHS collection after WWI. Findspot of the head was said to be near the 6th kilometre stone from Salonika on the Salonika-Serres road in 1917 near the milestone (SPHS 8509). The draped female torso was discovered in 1918 at Zagliveri. |
