| Notes | Romilly James Heald Jenkins (1907 – 1969) was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He came to the BSA as Prendergast Student in 1930, and was readmitted in 1931, 1931 (Macmillan Student) and 1933 (Senior Student). Jenkins had a long involvement with the school, serving as Assistant Director, on the Managing Commitee, and as trustee. He also was associated with Cambridge, King's College London, and at the Dumbarton Oaks Institute. During the second world war, Jenkins served in the British Foreign Interest. Academically, he focused on Byzantine and Modern Greek studies. Arthur Hubert Stanley Megaw (1910 – 2006) was born in Dublin and educated at Peterhouse College, Cambridge. He was admitted to the BSA as Walston Student and returned twice. Megaw spent the bulk of his career as Director of the Department of Antiquities in Cyprus. In 1962, he became Director of the BSA. After his six year tenure, he joined the Dumbarton Oaks Institute, where he had briefly worked before; Megaw would split his time between the United States and Cyprus. Guy Thompson Griffith (1908-1985) went to the Leys School in Cambridge with Romilly Jenkins as a child. He was a student at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and later a fellow there from 1931 until his death. He was admitted to the BSA in 1931-32. |
