Further information | This is a fifth-century marble slab probably from a templon. The missing right part has been replaced with plaster. The laurel garland with the inscribed monogram or cross and the ivy leaves, symbols of the victory over death, appear also as common themes in the decoration of early-christian sarcophagi. |
