Scope and Content Part of a group of images from the British School at Athens excavations at Palaikastro, Crete in the 1902-1905. The original description in the SPHS negative register reads: "Palaikastro: MM III pithos (BM No. A 736, BSA Supp I pl. xxii a)".
Notes Date is based on the description of the findspot (Δ20) in the 1923 publication,The unpublished objects from the Palaikastro excavations, page 55. This room in Block Δ was excavated in 1903. British Museum Vase number A736 is Museum number GR 1907,0119.593; it is catalogued as a MM pottery: coarse redware pithos; ribbed spout on lip; three small loop handles; red wash; three black bands round middle, donated by the British School at Athens in 1907.
