Scope and Content The original description in the SPHS register reads: "Athens: Theatre of Dionysus. Marble throne of the high priest of Dionysus".
Notes The date is based on R. Elsey Smith's residence in the BSA 1887-1888 (BSA Annual Report 1889-90, p. 25). The image is masked to show a 3.5 x 2.5cm image, so it may be for the production of a smaller format slide. The original negative size listed in the SPHS register indicates a half plate size (number 2). SPHS Lectures & Slide Sets: This image appears in S. Casson, ca. 1924. Ancient Athens. Slide numbers 1 and (Annotated List) J. Penoyroe, ca. 1926. Ancient Greek Life Slide number 16.
