About the John Pendlebury Family Papers
The John Pendlebury Family Papers cover the period from 1913 to 1964 and document the life of archaeologist and WWII hero John Devitt Stringfellow Pendlebury, his wife Hilda and their family.
Includes photographs of landscapes, archaeological sites and people. At the reverse of the album are photographs of John Pendlebury and family. Note that photographs are missing, including uncaptioned and captioned photographs. The missing captioned photographs are: 1. “Group on the way to Palaikastro” 2. “Sir Arthur Evans” 3. “Dr Duncan Mackenzie” 4. “P. J. Dixon”
