Further information | Arla castle, also known as Gyftokastron, dominates the plain between Fostaina and Arla, a region ruled by the Frankish Baron Nicholas Guigno who is recognized as its founder. The region was used by Byzantine emperors to launch their military expeditions in the Morea after 1205 and was later inhabited by the Arvanites. |
