Photographic Collection

The BSA Photographic Collection, housed in the Father Edward Bader Photo Archive Room, includes approximately 10,000 film & glass negatives, lantern and film slides, and prints. It includes a section of the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies (SPHS) negative collection donated to the BSA in 2003, images of the BSA premises and BSA projects, photographic albums donated by BSA members, and the negatives from the Payne/Mackworth-Young collection.

Parts of the Photographic Collection are currently being processed and will be made available on our website when work is completed.

BSA SPHS Image Collection

A photographic reference and loan collection amassed in the late 19th-mid 20th century by the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies that includes photographs from the British School at Athens documenting early BSA research.
