Vardaroftsa Toumba Excavation 1925-1926: Season 1925
Excavation: Research excavation
At Vardaroftsa, a large continuous trench was dug just west of the high point of the toumba. The high and low tables around the toumba were also examined with more trenches and test pits. Successive occupations and remains of structures were located. Five periods were identified in the local and imported pottery from pre-Mycenaean to Hellenic with some Hellenistic on the surface. Stone tools, terracotta objects, metal fragments and bone tools make up the material assemblage.
Active from 02 Mar 1925 to Apr 1925.
