Laconia Topography 1904-1909
Research programme:
From 1904 and 1905 throughout the excavations in the Sparta region conducted by the British School at Athens 1906-1910, various extensive topographical surveys and architectural surveys were carried out throughout the Laconian region. Extensive surveys covered the Mani, the Eastern range of the Taygetos mountains, East Laconia and Cape Malea and East Central Laconia. Architectural surveys produced plans of ancient and Medieval fortresses, and Medieval churches.
