Dawkins in Mount Athos 1905-1935
R.M. Dawkins, of the British School at Athens, visited Mount Athos in 1905 to collate a manuscript of Theocritius in the Monastery of the Iberians for Messrs. Giles and Cook. According to his book, The Monks of Mount Athos, Dawkins also visted Athos several more times: 1931, 1933 and 1935. These dates are confirmed by notes in his unpublished autobiography held at Oxford University.
Active from 1905 to 1935.
