Tocra Project 1964-1967
Two seasons of excavation followed by two further seasons of survey revealed the layout of the walled Greek Cyrenaica city of Taucheira (Tocra). Rich Archaic deposits were thought to indicate a nearby sanctuary, but most of the remains associated with the town date to Greek, Roman and Byzantine periods.
Active from 1964 to 1967.
