Asprochaliko Excavation 1981
Dr G. N. Bailey (Cambridge) and Dr J. A. J. Gowlett (Oxford) spent three weeks of August in Epirus. No new archaeological work as such was undertaken. The main purpose of the visit was to collect the radiocarbon samples that were removed from the sections at Asprochaliko the previous year and to visit the palaeolithic rockshelters of the area, including the new site of Klithi near Konitsa, with members of the loannina ephorate.
Active in 1981.
