Excavation: Research excavation
In 1934 Heurtley came from Palestine to finish off the small part of the proto-Corinthian deposit left undug in 1932, arriving in Ithaca on April 9. At the same time Miss Lorimer arrived to finish the 'cairns' area. Mr. J. C. B. Richmond accompanied Heurtley from Palestine, and, assisted by Miss Benton, plotted the walls of the Hellenic town, using the sketch-map made by Mrs. G. A. D. Tait in 1932. Miss Benton also made tests of the walls at several points.
